I took the images of this spider yesterday on my wife's car. After posting the picture, I became curious of it's name, and did a image search. It turns out this spider is called "Jumping Spider" Phidippus audax which I learned from this website..
It is also here that I learned that these little critters are very curious and will jump at the approaching object instead of turning and running away. I personally experienced this yesterday. As I was snapping shots with a macro lens, the little sucker would turn around to face me. Once it suddenly jumped on to my lens; it was such a sudden movement that I jerked back reflexively;-)
